Vdokhnovenie – Russia

Choirs 2017The concert choir “Vdokhnovenie” of The Children’s Choral School № 106 from Moscow, Russia  has participated in many international children choral festivals and competitions. They have won  1st  prize in the International May choral competition  “Prof. G.Dimitrov” (Bulgaria, Varna 1999), 1 prize in the International polyphonic competition in Arezzo, Italy (2010), 1st prize in the international choral Competition “Venezia in Musica” in 2012 as well as winning the Grand Prix in the International choral Festivals “Kolojsky blagovest” in Grodno-Belarus in 2012 and “Autumn fairy tale” in Teplice–Prague, (Czech Republic) in 2014. “Vdokhnovenie”  has also participated in the International Choral Competition (Spain, Tolosa 2008) and performed a concert in the festival “Sympathy Evroparkov” in Paris (France).The choir “Vdokhnovenie” has given concerts in several Russian and all over Europe. The repertoire of the choir consists of Russian and foreign sacred music from the Renaissance till today as well as Russian and foreign classical music. Website

 

 

Likova – Russia

likovaChoir “Likova” is the winner of many Moscow, Russian and international contests and festivals. The repertoire of the choir includes the best examples of Russian and European classical music, spiritual music, folk songs, works of contemporary composers and arrangements by the choir’s conductor Elena Yakovenko. They have performed in the leading concert halls of Moscow (The Great Hall of the Conservatory, Rachmaninov Hall of the Conservatory, Gnessin’s Concert Hall, The Chamber Hall of the Moscow International House of Music, Christ the Savior Cathedral, etc.) The choir “Likova” has also toured in Russia and abroad. Libels Voice (PS SMAN 15 Surabaya) – Indonesia

libels-voiceLibels Voice is a high school choir consisting of singers from 15 Surabaya Senior High School. The choir was founded in December 2007 in Surabaya, Indonesia, as an extracurricular activity for students who are passionate about singing. Initially, Libels Voice was intended to perform only in internal events at the school. However in 2011, with the dedication to singing and hard work under the direction of Azik Mubarak, Libels Voice decided to participate in a choir competition. Since then, Libels Voice has been participating in various choir competitions at many levels with outstanding achievements. With the singers aged mostly from 15 to 17, Libels Voice has achieved many awards, including a Gold Medal in the category mixed youth choirs in the Youngbohemia Prague Festival and Silver Medal in category mixed youth choirs and folklore in the 15th Budapest International Choir Competition in 2014. Libels Voice has also been invited many times to perform in governmental occasions for national ceremonials.  Libels Voice is not only a platform to sing, but the choir has also become a home and family to its singers.

 

Special Chorus – USA

Special-chorusThe Francis W. Parker School was founded in 1901 on the principles of progressive education. Since it’s inception, the JK-12 school has emphasized choral music and it has always been an essential part of the curriculum. In 1975, with the expansion of the school, choral singing, a requirement for grades JK-8, became an elective for students in grades 9-12, and the SATB Full Chorus was retitled the Special Chorus. Over a third of the students in the High School at Parker participate in music in some way. There are three choruses in the High School, Special Chorus is for 10th, 11th, and 12, graders. They rehearse three times a week for 50 minutes each. The repertoire consists of music from a wide variety of sources, classical, Broadway, Jazz, Gospel, A Cappella, and World music. They have performed  twice at the Music Festival in the Parks in Gurnee, Illinois, garnering top honors. This is the choir’s first performance outside of the United States.
